So far I haven’t found an answer to this question, just the same “tips” over and over. My sons iPhone 6 can’t be updated because there isn’t enough storage. I started clearing caches and history and deleting apps and it WENT UP. The system storage grew half a gig from deleting apps. Can anything be done without wiping the phone??

Obviously I know how to check the storage and obviously I have tried to reduce it, which I clearly stated in the question. None of that answers why it continues to GO UP when deleting apps, offloading apps, clearing caches, and deleting photos.
