siri and dictation stopped working in ios 16

It was working and suddenly stopped working one day. I can open siri by button or ‘hey siri’ but after query, always ger ‘on it..something went wrong’. For dictation, I press the mic button and dictation popup opens but it doesn't do anything. I can turn off siri and then when i setup hey siri, it seems to recognize everything during the sample phrases.

Already did ‘reset network settings’, hard restarted phone, turned off and on siri and dictation etc. no go. frustrating.

Anyone has this problem and any clue?

using iphone 13 pro max and ios 16.0.2

Have you tried restarting your iPhone? This simple step resolves a multitude of issues: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

"How to restart your iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, or later

Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.

Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.

To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."

If that doesn't resolve the issue, does your iPhone need updating to iOS 16.0.3? Do you have a recent backup for the data in your iPhone in iCloud or your computer? If not, we recommend that you create one as described here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Then update your iOS as outlined here: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

Yes, I have tried restarting, doing 'reset network settings', turn off then on siri and dictation.

I have also updated to 16.0.3 yesterday.

Problem still persists.

When I press the side button first, the siri icon comes on and goes off. When I press it second time, it comes on..stays on and seems like responding to my voice...detects end of my command..then goes on to this 'on it...something went wrong'..
