Apple TV+ (app) hiding content because I have restrictions set on Apple TV (hardware)

I have restrictions set on my Apple TV (hardware) because I have a child that uses the device. Until today, when I wanted to watch something in the Apple TV (app) on TV+ that was above the restriction level, I would simply have to enter my pin and then I could start watching.

Now, any and all content that is above the restriction level is just completely hidden. It's like it doesn't exist. If I search for the specific show I'm looking for it'll find it and let me put in the pin, but that's a horrible user experience. The only way I can get it to display everything like it used to is to completely disable restrictions.

How do I get it back to the old setup where it shows everything but simply requires a pin to play anything above the restriction level?

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today.

While you can't revert to tvOS 15, you can leave Product Feedback and the right team may be able to review it.

You could also enable another user for your child: Set up multiple users on Apple TV.

Have you ever created a child Apple ID? Here's how: Create an Apple ID for your child.

"On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

To verify that you're an adult, you need a credit card.

In iOS 16 or later

Go to Settings > Family.
Tap the Add Member button .
Tap Create Child Account, then tap Continue.
Enter the child's name and birth date. Be sure to enter the correct birth date — you can't change it later.
Follow the onscreen instructions to finish setting up the account. For your child's Apple ID, you can use their email address, the suggested @icloud.com address, or their Game Center nickname."
