JPG photos are no longer recognized by iPhoto or Photos on my Mac after iOS 16.0.2 update
Immediately upon updating my iPhone 12 to iOS 16.0.2 on 09-26-2022, the JPG photos taken with iPhone are no longer recognized by iPhoto or Photos or Aperture on my iMac, so these apps no longer download my iPhone JPG files but give an error message to the effect that "File #######.JPG is not recognized as a valid file."
This means that suddenly, with the latest 16.0.2 iOS iPhone update, you can no longer transfer JPG photo files from your iPhone to your Mac. I've tested this with iPhoto, Photos, and Aperture, and every one of these apps on my iMac (running High Sierra 10.13.6) will no longer recognize or download the JPG photos from my iPhone 12 to my iMac. I had just downloaded a number of photos to my iMac from iPhone a few days prior to updating the iPhone to iOS 16.0.2, so I'm certain that this issue was introduced with iOS 16.0.2.
Pretty frustrating, especially as a trip is planned in the next few days where many photos will be taken with the iPhone. Is Apple aware of and working on a fix for this recent new bug?
