monterey finder save unclickable

Hi, periodically the Finder Save interface for all applications becomes unclickable. The only key it accepts is an 'ESC' though the File Type can be selected for some dialogues. This is true for all applications including multiple browsers, office365, macOS Mail, and Outlook. The only way I've found is to reboot. The problem can then stay away for a couple of weeks or more and then return. I can't identify any usage pattern that's causing this.

Has anyone out there seen similar?
