I lost my phone and I have apple care but I couldn't place a claim for it

What happened when you tried to make a claim? Are you certain you had AppleCare+ Theft and Loss? One can buy AppleCare+ and one can buy AppleCare+ Theft and Loss. If you didn't add Theft and Loss, you cannot claim a lost phone.
