How do I open an IP address in Safari

Hello,

I've come across this multiple times now... I want to open an IP address with Safari so I put something like http://172.16.1.143:9132 into the Safari address bar but it doesn't work and instead it's trying to open www.172.16.1.143:9132 and I can't figure out how to tell Safari not to do this.

If I check with telnet 172.16.1.143 9132 I get connected and get an http header returned so the service is running. I'm just looking for a way to tell Safari to connect to it and not try prepending www first.

Thanks a lot.
