Every time I open the Notification Centre on iOS 16 with my AirPods connected, after closing it, I get the notification that they are connected. Is there any way to disable this?

Settings > Bluetooth > tap the blue “i” on the right of your AirPods. Scroll down to “connect to this iPhone” tap it. Select your option.
your AirPods must be on. So put one in your ear before you look.
I came here looking just for this. I’ve already set it to “connect to this iPhone” when last connected. And still get the pop up.
Yes even I had to keep my AirPods to the connect when last connected setting on iOS 15 to not get the notification. But now even that doesn’t seem to work
