I expected the today group to be on the top of the Downloads folder, however it's in Earlier? It's sorted in a way that before earlier, everything is from new to old, but in Earlier group, it's sorted from new to old. And earlier implied to be older than 2021. I find this very confusing.
What are you grouping by?
Date Created and Modified are file system data so is always set.
Other Data like Date Added is metadata that will sometimes go unset. If you group by Date Added, the unset values go into the last group.

That's really odd... obviously abnormal.
Does the same problem occur when starting in Safe Mode?
Does the same problem occur in a different user account?
