Apple Lightning to USB 3 camera adapter

Not able to get the firmware upgrade to download. Have followed the notions of only connecting the dongle, or leaving it overnight. No luck. Any way to force it? Right now the adapter is useless since I need it to connect and power a Snowball mic.

Sorry, but your answer does not address the issue: the iphone IOS is fine; it is the Firmware of the adapter that doesn't upgrade.

Hey htopas,

It sounds like you're having an issue installing an update for your iPhone.

If you're referring to an iOS update, we'd recommend the steps in the following article as it has steps to help with update issues: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't update - Apple Support

If you're referring to some other type of update related to your Snowball mic or something else, let us know and we can look into that further.

Thanks!

Hi htopas,

Thanks for clarifying.

The Lightning to USB-C Camera Adapter is not capable of a firmware update. This article has information about using this type of adapter:

Import photos using Apple camera adapters - Apple Support

Import photos and videos
To import from your SD card or digital camera, follow these steps:
1. Connect the adapter to your iOS device.
2. Connect your digital camera to the adapter by USB or insert an SD card.
3. Photos should automatically open to the Import tab. If it doesn't, open Photos and tap Import.
4. Tap Import All to import your content, or tap specific items, then tap Import.
5. When the import is complete, you might be asked to Keep or Delete the media on the camera or SD card.
You can import content only to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You can't export content to an SD card or digital camera.

The Apple Online Store listing for this item also doesn't mention any type of firmware being used:

We'd advise to check with the microphone manufacturer, to verify that it's compatible with your iPhone and iOS version.
