Mac mail loses column width settings

Mail 16 will not retain column widths. This is a longstanding problem which seems to have no answer. I've tried many suggestions on line but none work for me. I am using Monterey 12.5. Have I missed the solution already posted ?

Ventura Mail Breaks "Float"? Mail 16.0 under macOS Ventura 13.0.1 appears to break all Format > Alignment > Float functionality. The options remain stubbornly unavailable regardless of what's selected. Is anyone else having this experience?

Apple Mail loses column width settings Seems that this is an old problem [Mac mail loses column width settings - Apple Community]. However, for me, it only started with macOS 13.2. The problem is that Apple Mail does not save the column widths that I set in the "All Inboxes" window. It seems to happen when I logoff and logon again later. It doesn't happen if I quit Mail and re-open. It's very odd. Why would this start to happen with macOs 13.2 ? Is there a fix ? Thanks.

I've never actually had the problem and don't know how to fix yours. It's most likely a Mail .plist problem. Which I don't know.
