Unable to change the volume on my Apple Watch when I'm listening to music on my iPhone

Hi, I have the Apple Watch Series 7 and whenever I listen to music on my iPhone 11 (doesn't matter if it is Apple Music or Spotify), I can't change the volume using the digital crown on my watch. Is this a common problem after updating to watchOS 8.7 and iOS 15.6?
