Newer generation iPad trade-in

So I have a iPad Air 5 and have been using it for a month and I am kind of thinking about trading it for a iPad Pro because it didn’t really fit me as much. So I look on Apple trade in and I didn’t see the model at all on the selections even when I entered the serial number, why is that and am I able to trade it for another?

Apple does not have an online mechanism that accepts current models of iPad for its trade-in programme.

You might try to trade-in at a physical Apple Store, but realise that trade-in values are much (much!) lower than retail. As such, you might obtain a significantly better monetary value by selling privately.

You can ask in-store - but don’t be surprised is the answer is no. Only Apple can give you a definitive answer.

As soon as a new model is introduced, as a successor to the iPad Air5, the trade-in programme will likely accept your current iPad.

To reiterate, regardless of whether or not Apple’s trade-in programme will accept your iPad, you will achieve a better value by selling privately.
