$150 were deducted from my account

Hello,

I just purchased a macbook under the back to school event 2022. I was supposed to get a $150 giftcard to my email, but instead they were deducted from my account(the transaction status is pending but they were deducted). I haven't made this purchase($150) through my apple id which my card was linked to but I can see the purchase being done through my bank account. I didn't get an email regarding this as well. I just wanted to know is this related to my mac purchase or was done for something else.

I cannot verify what the Mac price was. This is primarily a user-to-user support forum; other Apple users like you.

All I can tell you is that the free gift card is billed separately and whatever the price listed for the Mac was is reduced by the gift card amount.

Apple bills for the free gift card and reduces the billing for the Mac. For example, if you buy a $2000 Mac with a free gift card, they bill you $1850 for the Mac (when it ships) and $150 for the gift card. The total billing is $2000.

Well actually they should have emailed me the giftcard as they stated in the email they sent me to inform me of the purchase. So after student discount the mac would have been of $1850 n then the added discount should make it $1700 right?
