ePub book support on new iPad?

I use Overdrive to borrow books and read them on my iPad. I recently purchased a new iPad and I received a message that the device does not support ePub books. What???? I used my old device all of the time and one of the reasons I updated to a new iPad was to borrow and download books from my library!!
