I just bought an iPhone XR. It doesn't come with a charger, only with this USB-C to Lightning cable. I don't have any other apple product. I connect the Lightning end into the iPhone and where should I connect the USB-C end?

FWIW, you'll find that Apple is not the only smart phone manufacturer that is no longer including the power adapter. If you bought it at an Apple Store, you have 14 days from the purchase date to return it for either a refund or a replacement. Also, they should have informed you that it does not come with the adapter.
I need to put more money into it? I just bought a brand new phone and I can't even recharge it?
