iphone 8s won't update in itunes

iPhone 8s won't update in iTunes. I've rebooted both with no luck. My iPad updated fine. Usually I simply open iTunes, and it tells me there is an update. I have the latest iTunes also. Once I connect my apple cord to PC, my phone comes up, then I click on the phone, and click update. It starts to extract , then backup, it almost starts, then no


When I YouTube search, there are a few downloads that say it will fix, but I am very careful not to do that. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Sorry about that, even if error 4000 was always solved using the workaround I suggested.

I don't know any other solutions, except inviting you to contact Apple Support directly using this link:--> Get Support

Try this workaround, keeping in mind that keychain (if you're using it) can be affected:

  • Disconnect your device from the computer
  • Temporarily disable the passcode on your iPhone
  • Restart the iPhone
  • Restart iTunes
  • Reconnect the iPhone to your computer and restart the update procedure.

When finished, re-enable your passcode on your iPhone.
