What the maximum download speed for IPhone XR with 5G WiFi

That is an extremely open ended question. One correction, there is no such thing as a 5G WiFi. There is such a thing that is 5Ghz WiFi which is a Frequency and generally data can be transferred faster over a 5Ghz WiFi Network vs a 2.5 Ghz. One thing to note and that is the a 5Ghz WiFi Network has a shorter range than the 2.5Ghz WiFi Network.

You may be wondering by now about what is the fastest download speed over a 5Ghz WiFi Network. The answer is that Under ideal conditions, 2.4 GHz WiFi will support up to 450 Mbps or 600 Mbps, while 5 GHz Wi-Fi will support up to 1300 Mbps. Ideal conditions are variable. If your WiFi Network is split among other devices then the speed gets slower regardless of which frequency you use. If you use a WiFi extender or a WiFI Access Point then speeds can be cut in half. Short answer is that a 5Ghz WiFi Network should be about 3 times faster than a 2.5Ghz WiFi Network.

Now, there is such a thing as a 5G LTE Cellular Network provided by a cellular service carrier for data transfer. If you are talking about this then the answer is that your iPhone XR or any iPhone, as of today, does not have the capability to use a 5G LTE Network.

One thing I should have mentioned and just forgot to mention is that regardless of a given WiFi Network's internal data transfer speed capacity, today, it will always be limited by the available speed of the incoming Internet Service. I didn't want OP to think that 1300 mbps (for example) or close is an achievable internet download speeds in most cases.

I don't think you fully comprehended Alex's excellent reply to you. You are most likely getting a 5Ghz router, not a 5G router as in Cellular 5G which is coming soon to many cell phones (and is available in some already). Your connection on 5Ghz may be faster IF you are within close range of the router. But as Alex correctly explained, the further you are from the router, 5Ghz drops off.

Your speed is more dependent on how many Megabyte Per Second (Mbps) you pay for from your internet provider. For example, if you pay for 100 Mbps, you may get up to 100 Mbps. If you pay for 400 Mbps, you may get up to 400 Mbps. If you want the absolute fastest speeds, you need to pay for a higher Mbps. So, the answer to your question is honestly less about the router and more about the Mbps speeds you pay for.

Finally, the 4G LTE Sim Card in your phone has nothing to do with the Wifi router you are getting. It is for data and phone calls from your cellular provider and has nothing to do with Wifi.

Let me get this straight. First I would like to correct my original post. Whenever I mentioned 2.5Ghz, I actually meant 2.4Ghz.

From what I understand in your second post is that you live on the 7th floor and have 4G LTE (4th Generation Long Term Evolution) service from your cellular service. You have a weak signal from the cellular service for data usage and therefore would like to work with WiFi instead (when you are home) to have better data transfer and probably WiFi calling. To do this you are considering ordering a WiFI outer from your cellular service (Some cellular companies provide free WiFi routers to overcome this hurdle such as T-Mobile in the US for example). The question now is that whenever you are on WiFi, at home, what will be the speeds with a 5Ghz WiFi router? Do I have it correct now or am I still off in my understanding?

Answer - Not much change from what Logsterghost1 and I had provided earlier. Your 4G SIM for cellular data has nothing to do with WiFi connection or speeds. Cellular and WiFi are two different things. You cannot relate one's capabilities with the other. The speeds are measured in Mbps (Megabits per second) in both cases however the medium of transfer is completely different. So let's talk about 5Ghz WiFi because that is what you are asking about and not 5G LTE Cellular Data.

Your maximum internet data speed over a 5Ghz Router (or a 2.4Ghz WiFi Router) will depend and will be limited by the available Internet Speed from your Internet Service Provider (ISP). As Lobsterghost1 mentioned, your maximum internet speed will be what you are currently paying for. The 5Ghz Router is capable of delivering speeds up to 1300 Mbps however IF your Internet Service Provider only supplies speeds up to 100Mbps (for example) then your speeds will be up to 100Mbps.
