How to remove Activation Lock on iPhone purchased from an Apple authorized store in Vietnam?

I bought an Iphone 17 from an Apple authorized store in Vietnam in October 2025. A few days ago, specifically on December 1, due to my ignorance, I accidentally logged in a public apple id to my device. As a result, my device was activated Activation Lock (My screen showed Iphone Locked to owner).

Then I submitted a complaint via: https://alsupport.apple.com, I correctly selected the For a personally owned device section, I filled in all the information along with the proof invoice with the serial number of the device written on it. After waiting for about 2 days, I received a rejection from Apple, saying that they would not be able to consider additional requests or documents related to this device.

What should I do now?

Due to lack of knowledge, and I needed to download some software that had been removed from the apple store (I used it a lot in the past so I wanted to download it again), I found some shared apple IDs online and stupidly logged in with that account.

That was a really really really bad decision. We see this happening a lot in other countries too. But you did this. And ONLY Apple can help you, if you provide acceptable documentation, which meets their requirements. If Apple denies your request, you can try to appeal, but Apple is the final arbiter and there's absolutely nothing anyone on this user to user only forum can do to help you. We aren't Apple. We can't change Apple's requirements for Account issues in any way, shape or form.

I suspect this isn't going to end well for you and you likely now own a useless phone you can't use again. It's unfortunate, but in the scheme of life mistakes, this isn't a life altering mistake, so you can be thankful for that.

Hello~ I will reiterate what has already been stated here… your own words “I accidentally logged in a public apple id to my device.” This action has rendered your iPhone useless. It now belongs to whoever the “public Apple ID” belongs to now. If you have been denied assistance by both Apple and the company that you bought this device from then…that’s it. Nothing more that you nor anyone else can do.

Re: “The store didn't sell it in that condition. The OP fell for a scam and logged into what they referred to as a "public Apple ID".”

After which the scammer no doubt put the phone into Lost Mode. If the phone was in that mode, Apple would probably have rejected even an Activation Lock support request accompanied by proof of purchase from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller.

Okay, it’s not often that there’s an unfamiliar variation of Activation Lock posted around here.

Could you explain how you logged into a “public” Apple Account, and what a “public” Apple Account is?

As for regaining ownership, you’ve lost ownership of this device, and your receipts are somehow inadequate.

Which I would suspect all ties back to whatever this “public” Apple Account might involve, or maybe the receipts.

And as was correctly mentioned earlier, the store would be your remaining recourse.

Yes, after receiving the rejection letter from Apple, I went back to the place where I bought it, I was able to provide the store's website: https://www.digibox.com.vn/.

They said they couldn't help, all they could do was provide me with the purchase receipt. They advised me to try the warranty centers (ASSP) in Vietnam to ask. But providing the receipt with full information and still being rejected really confused me.
