Don't have password to access my Mac Pro the new update requires password
I don't use a password to access my Mac Pro. The new Tahoe update requires a password to restart, update now and update tonight.

You do have a password. It's likely that you set your Mac up to log in automatically at some point in the past.
You will need the password you created when you set up your user account on the machine.

leroydouglas, he left the password blank. He did not forgot the password. your post did not help at all. I assume you never had a "no password" setup before and after upgrading to Tahoe.
Servant of Cats, I never had a password for login or system updates when prompted, I would just press "Return" without password. yeah something new on Tahoe.
Those people have no idea what you meant, or they haven't experience the situation of using no password.
