Bought a new Mac Mini (to replace aging iMac) and chose the AOC24v5CW monitor as it has a built in camera. However, I cannot get it to work. The driver CD has no MacOS drivers and I can't get my Mac to see the camera anywhere to even switch it on. Been on to AOCs website and there's no obvious driver to download. Bit stumped really with FaceTime not working and Zoom/Teams working without a camera!!!

That's the problem with purchasing a third party monitor with camera. Unless the vendor supplies a Mac driver (few do), the camera won't work. You may be able to find a stand-alone camera that does. Then you have to decide if you wish to keep that monitor. In the meantime, if you have an iPhone or iPad, use one of those.
in fact, in searching through the box I found a USB C-C lead and wondered if I should try that instead of the HDMI (even though that was probably a better lead). When I plugged it in I noticed that a dot came on beside the camera. Hey presto, it's a power lead a camera lead into the Mac Mini and now it's working fine. Thank you for taking the trouble to reply however.

Your monitor (AOC – AOC Monitor 24V5CW) has several video inputs. Two HDMI v1.4 ones, one DisplayPort v1.2 one, and a USB-C one that could provide to 65W of power to a notebook computer. (The Mini won't draw power from the monitor. It expects to always get power directly from the wall.)
HDMI is pretty much for audio and video only. It doesn't connect anything else. Same with regular DisplayPort.
A USB-C connection can carry video (DisplayPort), USB data, and charging power at the same time. I'd assume that the USB-C connection hooked up both the Webcam and the four downstream USB-A ports on the monitor.
without drivers it will never work, it's the choice of AOC which platforms they wish to develop drivers for
so unless software enthusiasts spend a lot of their free time reverse engineering that cams windows driver to develop ones for macOS and linux and the likes, you will likely have to go to logitech or other external webcam manufacturers
If the webcam in that monitor works without extra drivers, I'm guessing that means that it is USB Video Class (UVC) compliant.
