How can I regain control over my iPad from the hackers and change it from appearing as iPhone?

Hackers have mirrored themselves on all my devices. This iPad now shows up as an IPhone. How can I take back control

I want the hackers and spies off of my phone

What makes you suspect or believe that your iPhone has been compromised by "hackers and spies". Technically, unless you have deliberately jailbroken your iPhone, this is very difficult and expensive to achieve.

Unless you are of sufficient importance and interest to a very well funded and determined threat actor, and assuming that your iPhone has been kept up-to-date with system software updates, you should not be overly concerned for your phone being directly compromised. Due to the system architecture of iOS, your iPhone is not susceptible to traditional malware infection per-se.

However, as with all computer systems, there are still some vulnerabilities and exploits to which you remain vulnerable. For older devices, no longer benefiting from regular security updates, the risk of an unpatched vulnerability being exploited increases. Regardless of the installed version of iOS, there are useful mitigations that can be used to significantly reduce your exposure to risk.

Threat Mitigation

The majority of threats to which you will be invariably exposed will surface via web pages or embedded links within email or other messaging platforms. Browser-based attacks can be largely and successfully mitigated by installing a good Content and Ad-blocking product. One of the most respected within the Apple App Store - designed for iPad, iPhone and Mac - is 1Blocker for Safari.

https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/1blocker-for-safari/id1365531024

1Blocker is highly configurable - and crucially does not rely upon an external proxy-service of dubious provenance, often utilised by so-called AntiVirus products intended for iOS/iPadOS. Instead, all processing by 1Blocker takes place on your device - and contrary to expectations, Safari will run faster and more efficiently.

Unwanted content is not simply filtered after download (a technique used by basic/inferior products), but instead undesirable embedded content is blocked from download. The 1Blocker product has also recently introduced its new “Firewall” functions - that are explicitly designed to block “trackers”. Being implemented at the network-layer, this additional protection works across all Apps. Recent updates to 1Blocker has introduced additional network extensions, extending protection to other Apps.

A further to improve protection from exploits is to use a security focussed DNS Service in preference to automatic DNS settings. This can either be set on a per-device basis in Settings, or can be set-up on your home Router - and in so doing extends the benefit of this specific protection to other devices on your local network. I suggest using one of the following DNS services - for which IPv4 and IPv6 server addresses are listed:

Quad9 (recommended)

9.9.9.9

149.112.112.112

2620:fe::fe

2620:fe::9

OpenDNS

208.67.222.222

208.67.220.220

2620:119:35::35

2620:119:53::53

Cloudflare

1.1.1.1

1.0.0.1

2606:4700:4700::1111

2606:4700:4700::1001

Use of the above DNS services will help to shield you from “known bad” websites and URLs - and when used alongside 1Blocker, or other reputable Content Blocker, provides defence in depth.

That is not possible, unless they know your Apple ID and password. And if they do, just change the password.

The name of your iPad is in Settings/About. Tap on the current name and you can change it to anything you want.

You probably set up the iPad from a backup of an iPhone named “iPhone"

To confirm, you are reporting that your iPad is showing as an iPhone, and believe that to be an indication of “hacking”.

Yeah, it’s possible some “hackers” are being silly with some immensely expensive exploits, or gaslighting, or such. Unlikely, but possible.

It’s also possible that whatever you’re reading here is either misinterpreting some data it has collected (some website login notices routinely get this wrong, as well as the expected geolocation positioning errors that can arise), or whatever you’re reading is itself being misinterpreted.

Or the iPad was initially installed using a copy of an iPhone named iPhone, as was suggested above.

Or some local gremlin knows your iPad passcode, and is changing things, and potentially also gaslighting.

Might want to provide some additional details, particularly how long these problems have been arising, and whether there has been previous advice received and considered and implemented as appropriate.

Thank you for responding. I don’t own an IPhone. They have everything on me and yes, they are mirrored . So much as to change game settings and play against me or physically trying to get them off by using your hand gestures under accessibility. I even caught them answering one of my phone lines that was suppose to be disconnected as me. They turned my mother’s phone line into a 1-800 sex thing like to meet people or something. It’s been going on for a year in a half. It’s creepy and odd. They are very, very good. They have done a lot more that you simply would not believe unless you actually witnessed it yourself. Thank you for your advice.

Thank you for responding. I have done everything. I mean everything that there is to know how and what to do. Police, FBI, wannabe hackers, etc. etc. I even have Apple support taking notes as I am showing them certain things on the screen when they are on it. They are even bewildered & cannot help me. FBI won’t even look at it for there is no loss of money, etc etc. You lose sleep because you keep trying to kick them out. Changing devices, phone numbers, accounts, or passwords. You name it, I’ve done it. You actually start to feel like you’re losing your marbles…when you haven’t. The only thing to do is not have any devices of such. Go off grid or something. I find it funny when people tell me to do such, for we know what the world revolves around and what everyone needs to have or do in everyday living. Unless you are actually living off of the grid. This has been over a year and I have no bank account, debit or credit cards & I have frozen everything. I’m not a tech expert, but I have been shown how to “hack” certain things. If that makes any sense. What I need is Elon Musk’s number. Sadly, this seems to be my last hope of regaining some king of sanity. lol
