Logic Pro bus settings menu not opening on mac mini after migration

In Logic, when you want to copy a bus's settings to another bus, you usually click on the settings button at the top of the bus and then it'll give you various options in the form of a menu. I was working in Logic 10.something on my macbook and this worked fine. I recently moved over to a mac mini and updated Logic to 11.2 and now it doesn't work. I'm not sure if this is something that was changed in an update or if Logic is not enjoying me using a mouse instead of a trackpad or what but I would appreciate some help with this. So far I've tried: changing to a different mouse, reseting to default Logic settings, opening a different project, updating MacOs, and making sure I've updated to the most recent version of Logic.
