What does ribbon icon on Apple Podcasts mean?

In an Apple podcast episode, on the top right is a ribbon icon, a checkmark icon, and the three dots for more menu iitems. When you click the ribbon icon, it changes color. What does it do?

Why is the orange microphone icon showing in certain apps? The other day I turned on microphone once in safari to allow a pitch detector to work. I turned it off again afterwards, but since then the orange microphone icon has been in the corner of my screen on many other apps: Files, notes, settings, microsoft office, google drive. Safari and Procreate (my drawing app) are clean. Why is the icon there? Does it mean these apps are using my microphone, or is it a mistake? In settings the microphone is supposedly turned off for Word, but the icon still shows. I would appreciate some sort of explanation... thank you!

FCPX Timeline compound clips blue & grey My compound clips in the timeline are blue and grey. Wondering what this means. It doesn't appear to effect the functionality.

This is a shortcut to save the episode. This option also appears in the full menu (click the 3 dots to view).

Ribbon outline = not saved (default)

Ribbon colored in = saved
