iphone14 won't recognize my password for my primary email address

My iPhone 14 keeps rejecting my password for my primary email address. I am positive that the password is correct since I am able to retrieve mail from the same address on my MacBook Air. I’ve already tried a shut down and restart. I hesitate to remove and re-enter the address from my settings because I don’t want to risk losing all of my emails. Suggestions, please?

The easiest solution that actually works is to delete the email account from your iPhone, then after everything is gone, simply add your account.


The reason this works is because (for some reason), the authentication method has somehow changed.


Everyone I have helped has had success using this method.

Thanks for the response, but I STILL am unable to access my Comcast/Xfinity email using Mac Mail. In fact, I can no longer access them in my Comcast/Xfinity account, where an error symbol is appearing. I have no idea how or where to set up "an app specific password" - on my phone or in my Comcast/Xfinity account. I cannot get a "human" at Comcast/Xfinity because they are no longer my internet provider. Moreover, I do not understand how this even happened since it worked fine before and I made no changes at all prior to this glitch.
