My iPhone and IPad will not receive or send email due to not accepting a new email password.

My iPhone and iPad will not receive or send email. I recently changed the email password on my HP desktop computer and have been trying to update the incoming and outgoing passwords for both Apple devices. I get a message saying the password is incorrect. It is the same as the email password on my desktop computer.
