When I try to link my email to my iPhone I get “No password provided. Please go to Mail Account Settings and enter your password“. But I AM entering my password every time. what can I do

Thank you. My email account is ntlworld (an old provider now managed by Virgin Media) When I try to link it I use the "Other" option I am not aware of any 2-step verification requirement
