I sent a message to someone that I want them to read. But I don’t want them to be able to answer back so I blocked them. But they hadn’t read the message before I blocked them. Will they still be able to read it or do I need to unblock them?

They will still be able to read the message if you had blocked the number. Blocking the number on your end just prevents you from receiving the message. You have no way to confirm whether they have read the message if they turn off Read Receipts, or if they also block your number.
