Unexpected high charge for iCloud storage plan despite opting for 50 GB at $0.99

I opted for a 50 GB iCloud storage plan @$0.99/mon and regularly get billed for that. Last bill from Apple was $26.00 but NO description as to what it was all about. I challenged the charge and got a credit. Now I get a notice that my 50GB plan requires payment. I did not sign up for any plan requiring $26. A 1 yr pre-pay might be $11.82. If Apple bills me via PayPal or a credit card why isnt the reason published so I don't waste my time with this stuff?! Ray

  1. Apple will never disclose the reason for charge directly in the charge description on your card statement, precisely to avoid confusing. If it says "apple.com/bill" it comes form Apple.
  2. To identify charges, see the following support document. click here ➜ Get help with charges from apple.com/bill - Apple Support. You can always verify charges on your account or at https://reportaproblem.apple.com
  3. If you blocked a charge from your banks side, then all subsequent charges would also be blocked and that means your Apple account is now in bad standing. If you see an unknown charge from Apple verify with Apple before blocking it through your bank as that always causes more issues than it solves.
  4. You will now regardless have to re-verify your payment method on your account, and allow any pending charges to go through before your account is in good standing again and your iCloud storage can be re-instated.
  5. Once the charge has been successfully processed, you can request a refund for it, if you still do not recognize it after verifying it as described above. It's unlikely a random unauthorized charge happened, as charges from apple require your acceptance and biometric verification through Face ID or Touch ID before they are processed.
