IQ Mental Impulse review – results locked behind paywall

Just dropping by to share a quick IQ Mental Impulse ***

experience that left me a little frustrated.

I saw the app promoted as a fun and "free" way to test cognitive skills. It actually looked cool, so I went through the onboarding and spent a decent amount of time doing the intro tests. The process was smooth, the visuals were slick, and I was genuinely curious to see how it would rate my performance. But once I hit the end of the final task - boom - locked. Everything I thought I was working toward suddenly disappeared behind a subscription screen. No preview, no partial feedback, not even a hint. Just a message saying I had to sign up for premium access if I wanted to see any of the results. It felt a bit misleading, especially after the time investment. I get that monetization is necessary, but I wish the app had made that clear upfront. I`ve read a few IQ Mental Impulse feedback posts since, and it seems I`m not the only one caught off guard.

Just leaving this here in case it helps someone set better expectations. The tests may be engaging, but don`t expect to see your results unless you`re ready to pay.

I dont have the app though so that means it somehow charged me without me getting the app. I have disputed this charge & I have to get a new account # for my credit card now. How aggravating.

That means you were directed to their website to take the quiz. This happens usually from a Social Media post and sometimes there may be a website advertisement. A Social Media poster was paid a referral fee and a website would have been paid for an advertisement. The free trial is then started with that company directly and not managed by Apple where you would see the subscription on your Apple Account and be able to cancel it.

Here is what that company says about cancelling a free trial/subscription enabled from their website:

If you purchased a subscription or enabled free trial on our website: You can cancel

a free trial or a subscription by contacting our support at support@brainimpulse.me or by

clicking on “Cancel Subscription” button in your account on our website before the end of

the free trial or then-current subscription period.

If you are unable to get the results you want by cancelling the subscription or getting a refund, then your only option is to dispute the charge like you did with the payment method used.
