My unexpected IQ Mental Impulse experience - anyone else?

So… I’m trying to figure out if this is a glitch or if I just missed some hidden detail, but here’s what happened.

I downloaded IQ Mental Impulse after seeing it pop up on the App Store. It looked playful and brainy - perfect for a quick break from work. When I opened it, there was a prompt for a "trial" plan that looked super affordable (like cents, not even dollars). I thought - why not? Seemed low risk. Well, imagine my surprise when I checked my bank notification later and saw a $40 charge. No pop-up warning, no final confirmation page - just "thanks for your purchase" and poof, money gone

Naturally, I checked online and saw quite a few IQ Mental Impulse reviews that mentioned similar stuff. A lot of people were confused by how the charges are structured. I also reached out for help, but the IQ Mental Impulse feedback loop seems kind of… empty? No response, no confirmation email, nothing

If anyone else had the same thing happen, I’d appreciate hearing about it. I’m not here to throw shade - just genuinely baffled

Depends on the source of the subscription:

  • If you downloaded the app and made an in-app purchase, then those are managed by Apple and easily cancelled here:

View or cancel app subscriptions on iPhone - Apple Support

  • What is more likely is that you were referred to their website by a Social Media post or sometimes a website advertisement. In that case, they were paid to refer you to their website and you took a quiz and likely paid a small fee or offered a trial subscription to view your results. This has nothing to do with the app and Apple is not involved at all. You did not understand that this was a free trial and you were required to cancel the service to avoid the recurring subscription charges. The website is seen here :

And on their website, this is what they say is required to cancel this website subscription:

If you purchased a subscription or enabled free trial on our website: You can cancel

a free trial or a subscription by contacting our support at support@brainimpulse.me or by

clicking on “Cancel Subscription” button in your account on our website before the end of

the free trial or then-current subscription period.

If you are unable to resolve the charges with the website, then you must dispute the charges just like you would with any other fraudulent charges on your credit card. That is done by contacting the bank of the card being charged.
