Trackpad Click Not Working on MacBook Air M2 After macOS Sequoia 15.5 Update

I’m having this exact same issue on a MacBook Air M1 16gb. Relieved I’m not alone. It did work normally for a few days after updating to 15.5. I get an NDR007 code after running diagnostics. This could be do to my having to plug in a Magic Trackpad to start diagnostics sequence. Hopefully, Apple can get a fix out soon.

Go to System Settings > Trackpad:

• Ensure “Force Click and haptic feedback” is enabled
• Adjust the Click pressure slider (set to Medium or Firm, then test)

Did the issue persist in safe mode? Then it is most likely a bug or some sort, have you given this as feedback to apple so that they can look into it? If not, do that using this form Product Feedback - Apple

same issue, I am using a macbook pro intel 2018.

I fix it using the touch bar for opening the Terminal, then reload by command 3 times the issue is solved.

But somehow the trackpad pointer feels not the same as before the update.

in Terminal I used:

sudo shutdown -r now

same issue with the mouse pad for me too since I updated....why do they do this. My laptop now runs slower as well. It feels like one of those on purpose things they try to do to force you to buy a newer item if you havent in the past few years...my ipad same issue pen and touch pad is glitchy so i didnt update my phone and ofcourse my phone works fine now...this is extremely frustrating.

I've been having this issue for weeks now. My mouse and trackpad clicks become unresponsive. The issue happens every three or four days and the only way I've found to resolve it, is to reboot. I'm on MacOS 15.5 on a Macbook Air M4.

My trackpad does not work with OS15.5. will not connect with my IMac 2024

I am also having the same problem. I noticed it shortly after upgrading to 15.5. I have a 2023 MacBook Air M2.
