How to remove overlaid back buttons on iPad Safari after adding a website to the Home Screen?

Hi,

There is a web site I go to in Safari on the iPad to log in.

To make things quicker, from Safari I go to Share > Add To Home Screen.

But after when I click the icon, it does bring me to the login page as desired. But this what looks like to be a forward/back button set (Circled in red in the attached image), gets laid over my screen. It persists even after logging in and going to any part of the website. It’s non functional too. Clicking on it does nothing.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks
