Wi-Fi missing from Settings on Mac running macOS 12.7

I understand your Mac is unable to find any wireless hardware, and attempting to use a USB adapter isn't working either.

Consider running Apple Diagnostics:

However, only two outcomes are possible: it either identifies faulty hardware that needs to be fixed, or it will conclude with "no trouble found" when trouble obviously exists. Either one will require a trip to the Genius Bar:

All recent Macs — nearly all of them built within the last decade or two — are dependent on a viable Internet connection in order to install or restore macOS. Lacking another Mac, or some other external hardware that you can use, if it is unable to establish one, you're stuck.

If a Mac is unable to load its built-in diagnostics, it will attempt to load it from the Internet... which obviously isn't going to work if the Mac can't connect to the Internet.
