Can I back up multiple iPhones to a single Apple ID account for safekeeping?

Can you backup more than one iphone on a single account? Example - back up old phone to keep (not actively using this phone, just adding to cloud backup for safe keeping), and still using current iPhone and backing it up regularly. I have plenty of iCloud storage.

Or can I back up the old phone to my computer that is signed in to iTunes? So afraid of overwriting current phone backup and restore issues, if any, to either phones. I also have plenty of computer storage capacity.

Actually, I have several old phones I would like to back up…primarily for audio recordings and various items located just on those phones and unavailable elsewhere. Example - voice memos with family who passed.

You can backup multiple phones that are using the same Apple ID to iCloud.

I would recommend that each phone have a different Name (at Settings > General > About > Name). That isn't a requirement and the backups will be kept separate whether or not you do that, but it will be very confusing trying to determine which backup is for each phone.

Be aware that the only thing you will be able to do with the backups is use them to setup a new device or to do a full restore to an older device after completely erasing.
