Siri in iOS 18 has been a big disappointment to say the least. Is there a way to get the “old” Siri back? The old Siri could answer basic questions without telling me to look it up on ChatGPT. It was also much faster in responding. I have an iPhone 16 Pro.

Turn off Apple intelligence.
You can turn off Apple Intelligence and Siri should revert to its “dumb mode”. You can also disable ChatGPT in Apple intelligence in Settings while still keeping Apple intelligence on.

No downgrading isn't supported by Apple, siri is built in with the ios.
What troubleshooting have you done?
Yes, You can by going to settings - Apple Intelligence and Siri and there you should see "Apple Intelligence" option. Just simply turn that off and it should be done.
