Can I set favorites bar to open automatically in Safari?

hi all,

i'm working on switching to safari as my default browser (from chrome). so far so good, except every time i open safari i have to go into View to show my favorites bar (something i don't have to do in chrome). is there a way to set the favorites bar to open upon startup? i don't want 20 tabs to open on startup, just the few i've set to open, but i would prefer not to have to display frequently visited sites every time i open safari.

Seems so. Apple Support's online article (link below) may help:

Eg: says you can:

Choose how each Safari session starts: (Eg:You can choose "Opens with a new window")

Choose what a new Safari window contains: (Eg: You can choose "Start Page"

Choose what the Start Page contains: (Eg: You can choose your "Favorites"
