How do I reset iPod Touch 3rd gen when it’s in DFU mode?

I have an old iPod touch that I want to restore, but it’s in DFU mode but iTunes says it’s not.

Ipod Touch Stuck Out of DFU Mode I found my mom's old iPod Touch, and I decided to use it. It said "Connect to iTunes", so I did. It popped up, and I pressed "restore". It started going, and then a message popped up saying "This iPod is not in DFU mode. Please put in DFU mode to restore." I did some research, and tried to do it by holding the power button and home button, but that didn't work. As when I turn it on, all it says is "Connect to iTunes", there is no way for me to do it in settings. Please help.

ipod touch into dfu mode im trying to restore my ipod touch and it keeps saying it needs to be put into dfu mode.I thought that was recovery mode.

No problem now. I used a free tool called 3utools and it worked.
