Why does verify Window open user gesture not working on Safari after iOS 18.4.1 update?

the verify window open user gesture setting is not working very well on 18.4.1 and it’s practically useless now compared to previous updates, I’ve gone to the settings and re-enabled it to no avail, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Solution: Safari very slow to open page via hyperlink iPhone 16 Pro. Since new, and across all iOS 18 updates Safari has been painfully slow, 15-20 seconds, opening a web page via a hyperlink. Changing the default browser to DuckDuckGo, Opera or chrome eliminated this issue so I knew it was a Safari issue. I finally found the Safari setting that is causing the issue. Under the Advanced settings, Privacy, turning off the Advanced Tracking and Fingerprinting Protection eliminated the concern. But what does this setting do? See attached screenshots. I hope that by disabling this feature I am not opening myself to site tracking. Any feedback would be appreciated. I hope this helps others.

I made an account just to reply to this because I'm so frustrated by it. Since the feature flag broke the constant pop ups are making sites unusable in a completely literal sense and I can't find a way around it.

It’s absolutely unacceptable that Apple broke this essential feature flag. Without it, websites with intrusive pop-up’s from screen taps are entirely unusable.
