Disable AU scanning in Final Cut Pro

This is a long standing issue and it is insanity this has not been added as a feature or option to turn it off. Anyone doing music production with Logic has a lot of plugins that are not always compatible with Final Cut pro and in most cases we don't even need the plugins inside final cut pro.

There is an old thread that should have been addressed a long time ago but has not been and was simply closed out without a solution.

I vote to open it back up and Apple, please fix this so we don't have to sit forever on startup and then kill finalcut multiple times to get past it.

I've used FCP and Logic since they both were vision 1. I've never had audio plugin issues. The ones that don't work with FCP usually won't load, or just won't work, not a big deal to me.

An app that accesses audio unit plugins HAS to scan them to verify and index them, but not every time the app starts, only when new ones have been installed.

If you're getting AU scans every time FCP starts, you have a deeper issue. Delete pref files, renders, etc.

But personally, I've never had issues with it, and I don't think I ever had a student with this issue.
