Every time I open Final Cut Pro on version 10.6.5 it searchers and validated Audio Units every time. How do I get this to stop. It takes an hour to validate everything. I need this turned off please!!!!!!

If anything I’d try these troubleshooting tips instead: Bypass, remove, or rescan Audio Units plug-ins in Logic Pro or MainStage - Apple Support
How exactly does an antivirus cause this issue? It makes no sense. If anything, downloading things from outside the App Store would seem more likely to cause problems.

Having something that is continuously interfering when you try to access a file... and in video editing you are always accessing files on your drive...
Besides, installing stuff that is useless and diminishes your mac security makes no sense.

An hour... ouch! How many Audio Units do you have?!
Usually, FCP should only validate Audio Units when launched for the first time, or when there have been new Audio Units installed.
Other than that, the user can manually force a validation the next time FCP launches, by clicking the "Validate on Next Launch" button in the preferences.
It looks as if this preference is "stuck".
You can delete the application preferences, and this should clear the problem.
To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences.
The only problem then is that, even if this solves it going forward, it will still have to validate it one more time - after all, by deleting preferences, it is as if you were starting again for the first time....
If you have an enormous amount of Audio Units, then I'd recommend revising and seeing if you really need them (again, how many are we talking? thousands?)
If not, then there is probably something else entirely - any antivirus? any cleaners?
Please run Etrecheck and post its full report here. Use the "additional text" button and paste the report into the text box.
@Evoplug,
In previous FCP upgrades I have had occasional issues with older plugins suddenly falling out of compatibility.
I have the full set of Waves plugins along with some CrumplePop and others. ClarityVx is not yet M1 compatible.
Not knowing which plugins you have I would look for non-M1 compatible plugins.
The process that @LatriciaP noted is quite helpful.
I have the same issue with 10.6.5. For me, it also isn't validating even the Apple AUs correctly. In my case it was hanging on the izotope suite of AUs. Removing the AUs from the Components folder allowed it to validate normally. There is something wrong with validation in the latest update as yes, it does take forever but it would eventually finish as the OP said.
Resetting the preferences does seem to correct the problem, though it's strange that it doesn't validate the Apple AUs still.
Can you cite any legitimate information that supports your claims?
You can't really turn it off, and there is a known bug with FCPX trying to validate audio plugins that work perfectly fine in Logic Pro X. Waiting on Apple to do a bug fix.
