Purchase Migration Not Working Due to Apple Music Library

I think I have had 4 chats and 2 phone calls with Apple Support about this and I keep ended up at the same result. Apparently, if you have EVER had an Apple Music Library on both of your accounts, you are not eligible for migration. I deleted all of the music library from my secondary account a couple of months ago but I keep getting the error.


I have been holding out hope that support has just been incorrect and that I will be able to migrate my purchases. Old remnants of an Apple Music Library seems like such a silly reason to not allow a migration. To be honest, I don't even care about any of the purchased music. I just want my ~400 movies that I have purchased.


Since most of us that have two accounts are from the old MobileMe days, I feel like Apple is not supporting their legacy customers. Support teams only seem to have the same information that we see online, they read it to me verbatim from what I see on the support site. I don't really understand the point of escalating to a "senior advisor" if they just search support.apple.com for answers.


Excuse my venting, this has been an extremely frustrating situation. Has anyone else experienced this and found a way around it?

You have used phrases like “both of your accounts” and “most of us that have two accounts are from the old MobileMe days”.


I’ve been an Apple user “from the old MobileMe days” and earlier. It’s always been the case that each person is expected to have exactly one Apple Account (formerly called Apple ID).

Make sure that each family member has a unique Apple Account - Apple Support


Attempting to combine information from two Apple Accounts would be like merging information from two individuals and is generally not supported by Apple.
