Safari won't open with Javascript errror

After charging my Ipad Pro Safari will not open. It simply comes up with javascript:void(0); It seems likely that something happened during the charging process to cause this but I have no idea what changed while charging but Safari worke before but not after..

It is not possible to reinstall Safari and because I can't open it I can't change any preferences/settings within the app. So how can I resolve this problem which at the moment means I can't use Safari as a browser. In 12 years of Ipad ownership I have never encountered this problem. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Hi John

Thanks for your response. In Settings on the Ipad I deleted all Web data and all History. Unfortunately this did not resolve the problem and Safari would not open with the same Javascript error. I then noticed that in Settings/Safari/Advanced it showed that 9 Tabs were open in Safari with the option to include these in the deletion. When I did this the problem whatever was resolved and Safari opened. thanks again for your help.
