NordVPN prevents access to Chrome and Safari on MacBook Air
I have tried to set-up my NordVPN and whenever it is connected it will not let me access Chrome or Safari or anything else.

Uninstall NordVPN. Why are you using it?

Hello there,
Ignore all others saying "Why use NordVPN"
I personally think you had turned on those "extra" feature, which causes your VPN to overprotect you.
Try playing around NordVPN and its settings, since I remember there is a feature where you can select websites you can choose to filter and etc.
Regards,
There is a valid reason to use a VPN and that reason is to create a secure point-to-point tunnel to a private network such as a workplace or school network. Never use a public VPN to perform such a connection. A public VPN provides no security and it exposes your personal/financial/and browsing data to a third party that can/will do whatever they wish with your data.
If the original poster is using a VPN to connect to a private network they should contact the network administrator for instruction regarding what VPN client to use and how to configure that client.
Never use a public VPN.

Actually, the more informed you are about their usage the better off you will be. Unfortunately too many people have fallen for the marketing efforts of these companies that claim they are protecting your communication and that is far from the truth.

You also cannot ignore the problems users here have experienced with NordVPN just by searching this support site using the Search tab on the top of the page. Don't forget the data breach the Nord experienced where their users data was compromised and Nord covered it up for over a year and a half. How did hackers get their data/passwords when Nord claims the data is encrypted and it is not logged? They did offer an apology, but that is little late when the damage was already done and their reputation ruined by the false claims that were made.
Do your own research, then you can make an informed decision on using a VPN. You will obviously want to pay attention to the source of information you find, as I have said the marketing efforts by these companies are extensive and many articles you will find on the internet are simply ads or sponsored content by the website where they are paid.

Nothing unusual there. NordVPN has always been problematic, in fact that is true for most VPN's you would install. If you think they are providing you security, then that is a false assumption.

Then you are going about it the wrong way. A public VPN reduces your security not increase it.

Thank all of you for your suggestions. Hopefully, one of them will work.
