Why are my People & Pets not updating on iPhone after updating to iOS 18.4?

I have a iPhone 15 Pro running 18.4. I have plenty of storage, have done the reset in the photos app, connected to wi fi, restarted device, yet nothing works. Recent photos I have added (over a week old) are not appearing under the designated person. These are the steps I followed.

  1. 1. Restart your iPhone:
  2. A simple restart can resolve many software glitches.
  3. 2. Check for Photos app updates:
  4. Go to the App Store and make sure you have the latest version of the Photos app installed.
  5. 3. Ensure iCloud Photos is enabled:
  6. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Photos and make sure it's turned on.
  7. 4. Reset people and pet suggestions:
  8. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Photos and scroll down to find the option to reset people and pet suggestions.
  9. 5. Rebuild your Photos library:
  10. Back up your photos first! Then, you can try rebuilding your Photos library by deleting it and then recreating it from a backup, according to Apple Support Community.
  11. 6. Check for Low Power Mode:
  12. If you're using Low Power Mode, it can pause iCloud Photo uploads and prevent the People & Pets album from updating,

Additional Tips:

  • Wait for processing:
  • The People & Pets album may take time to fully update after a new photo library is created or after a reset.
  • Check device storage:
  • Insufficient storage space on your iPhone can also impact the processing of the People & Pets album.

Any thoughts? Thank you
