Photos of people not appearing in photo shuffle

So I recently went through all my photos and named every person I could so I could use the “People” feature on the photo shuffle Lock Screen, and I gave it plenty of time to curate (several nights in a row). I then added about 10 family members and friends to my photo shuffle Lock Screen, but for some reason they never appeared. So I deleted that Lock Screen and created a new one, this time only with those ten people. As soon as I selected the people I wanted and tapped “Use featured photos”, it got stuck loading forever. I’m on an iPhone XR running iOS 17.2.1 (21C66). Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you!
