"Music App on Mac is Froze: My Music app -- the player not the streamer -- is frozen. When I click on anything the beach ball spins. It was working fine earlier today -- playing, importing, making playlist, etc. I have force quit Music a number of times and have rebooted my Mac. Any suggestions?"
-------
Stalled Music App:
A. Close All Not Responding Apps:
Get to Finder, and close all apps that are not responding. See my User Tip: [command + tab] Use it to Access your Mac when Something is Not Responding - User Tip
B. View Activity Monitor:
Going into Activity Monitor, how much CPU and RAM is being used by Music? IF lots, then there is a bug, and it may be high due to something stuck in the download queue. So, try importing smaller-sized items. Go to: Settings > Utilities > Activity Monitor
C. Checking the System Status:
There's nothing mentioned for Apple Music issues, as of this reply. So, that's of no concern: Apple - Support - System Status
D. Create a New User:
For troubleshooting purposes, create a new Administrator User, and see if you still get this issue.
E. How much RAM do you Have?:
If you have 8GB or less, then expect things to lag, if you have lots open. RAM is intended for multitasking (running may things at once). Go to: Apple menu > About This Mac
F. Remove Login Items:
See if you need to remove some Login Items, Music being just one one them. Go Here: Change Users & Groups Login Items Preferences on Mac - Apple Support
