Can a water-damaged iPod touch be repaired?

My iPod was completely submerged in water. I dried it off and put it in a bag of silica gel. Halfway through the process, the torch turned on but turned off after about an hour. I still left the iPod in the silica gel bag overnight.

When the iPod was submerged, it had a small crack in the screen. When I took it out, the screen turned green and the iPod died before I could turn it off and dry it.

I don't really know what to do. I'm seriously debating whether I should remove the screen to check for damage or give up. I'm not at a loss of any essential data... I just want to get it back up and running. I realize that the device probably short-circuited earlier, so I just want to know what my next course of action should be. For now, I will leave it in the silica gel bag.

Thanks,

Nellbune
