I have imported a dozen consecutive dash cam clips which when in Filmstrip view are in a jumbled order but in List view are correct.
What am I doing wrong?
How can I make them appear in the correct order in Filmstrip view as that is the one I always use?

What sort order do you have selected in the drop down menu in Filmstrip? What’s the List view order?

I've only been using FCPX since it came out and I have never altered the filmstrip view and didn't know how!!!!
It was set to sort by content created so I have changed it to name and all is now well.
I think that "content created" does not always mean "content created"... I'll try to explain.
Depending on how files are copied or imported, they may get the file date from the time they were imported, which is not the same as the date the media was recorded on camera.
I think that Tom is, as usual, spot on. Click that icon and set the order the way you like.
This setting can be overriden for the list view simply by clicking some header of the list, but that change
does not affect filmstrip view.
One thing that puzzles me is that it appears I have always had them sorted by content created and there has never been a problem.
The names of the current clips are date stamps (for yesterday) so they should automatically have been in the correct order for content created.
In my case there are 30 minutes of clips recorded sequentially and imported together so content created should not have jumbled them.
Anyway all is OK now.
