Upgraded but Safari tabs did not transfer

I just upgraded to an iPad 6 running iOS 18.4 but my many (work in progress) open tabs in Safari did not transfer.

Is that normal and can I rescue them please? I made a backup from the old iPad just prior to transfer.

iPad mini 6, iPadOS 18

My open Safari tabs didn't copy across during a backup/restore I had a lot of open tabs in Safari on my iPhone 6s, which I had to backup and restore to an SE (2nd Gen) recently due to breaking the screen. I restored from backup today, and there are no tabs on Safari, it is completely empty. Why were the tabs not included in the backup? Is there a way to restore them?

Restoring full previous Safari tabs on iPad I just don’t understand why Apple won’t ad Restore All Tabs for Previous Session to Safari on iPad and iPhone iOS when you accidentally close all tabs . Especially now that the 500 tab limit has been removed. And why is the close all tabs button even there or in such an easy to press location. Firefox, Chrome,DuckDuckGo,Opera all have this… chrome can even backup to email notes. As a heavy apple user. This has to be the biggest frustration feature in my user experience. Please resolve this. Unless anyone else has a solution.

How do I recover my Safari tabs on new phone? Hi, I had my Iphone stolen and unfortunately I cannot double check whether the Safari backup was on but I’m sure it was. Nevertheless, I have just restored my data on the new Iphone and I’m missing all the tabs that were open on the previous phone. What can I do to get them back? Thank you

Thanks, I will first backup #1 to the iCloud and then switch on #2.

No, I mean that the iCloud backup is taking a long time. It's probably only 9MB, but over WiFi. I should have connected a cable to my router.

In settings>your name>ICloud and then you will see the sync settings and backup, I think the reset might work, but I don’t know, If you think it will work, then go ahead and reset.
